As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, a Six Member delegation from the Cocoa Marketing Company (Gh), led by the Board Chairman, Mr. Joseph Kobena Esibu, has donated assorted medical items to the Health Directorate of the Tema West Municipal Assembly, as part of the Company's quota in the Nation's fight against the COVID 19 pandemic.

Other members of the delegation were, Mr. Vincent Okyere Akomeah, Managing Director of Cocoa Marketing Company (Gh) Ltd.

The rest are, Mr. Paul Isaac Kwofie, Deputy Managing Director (operations), Mr. Frederick Amponsah Doku, Deputy Managing Director, (Marketing), Mr. Festus Padi Teye Caesar, Human Resource Manager, and Rhodaline Ofori Koranteng, Deputy Legal Manager.

The item donated are, One Hundred and Thirty Five (135) different sizes of "Veronica" buckets, Three Hundred litres (60 gallons) of alcohol based sanitisers, Four Hundred and Fifty litres (100 gallons) of anti bacterial liquid soaps and a cheque of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis. (GHS 10,000)

Donating the items, the Board Chairman, Mr. Joseph Kobena Esibu opined that, given the location of the CMC Warehouse Complex in the Tema West Municipality, the rising levels in the covid_19 active cases and its concomitant negative effects on Ghana's economy, the donation of the medical items could not have come at a better time.

He expressed the hope that the items would be put to good use.

"The provision of these items will go a long way to help prevent the spread of the virus and ultimately mitigate its negative effects".

Receiving the items on behalf of the Assembly, Mrs. Adwoa Amoako, the Municipal Chief Executive mince no words in revealing the many and varied negative effects the pandemic has brought on the operations of the Municipal Assembly.

She however noted that the Health Directorate  is doing everything possible to deliver on its core mandate of providing quality health services to the people living within its catchment area, promising that "the items and cash donation would be put to good use".

In a related development, the Cocoa Marketing Company delegation, including Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi, a Board Member of CMC, donated a cheque of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 100,000) to the COVID 19 National Trust Fund in Accra.
